This is for sure an opportunity that allowed as experiencing and enjoying the way you do in your countries while celebrating religious or traditional festivals.  We were happy that most of the participants liked our questions, and the answers gave us clear idea about the Folk groups in the way they dance, the way they are dressed and instruments they use to please and attract the audience.

A – Folk groups:

Most of the participants were enthusiastic about the groups they may talk about because there are many. This reflects a variety and great sense of belonging .Folk groups are more than bands of talented artists. They are also ambassadors of their regions like in Hungary, Ukraine and Holland, or their ethnical groups as in South Africa. In Lebanon, Latvia, and Netherlands they represent the national and the Cultural heritage as well.

B-Clothes:

Basically, groups perform their dances wearing traditional clothes. Made of leather, cotton, tissue or other materials, the clothes represent the identity and the belonging of the group. Men and women differ in colours, but also in bracelets and jewellery they put on. We can notice that with the Zulu attire in South Africa, as well as the group “Legend” from “Ukraine”. We were also attracted by costumes of the “Toppers “from Netherlands in addition to “Cedars” and “Carcalla” from Lebanon. Differently, in Hungary each group has its own embroidered motifs, and in Latvia Folk consumes are considered as traditional treasures which reflect the person’s personality.

C- Instruments used by the Folk groups mix the traditional and the modern ones.

-Hungary: The hammered dulcimer, the Hungarian bagpipe, the drums and the violins are traditionally part of

               a Hungarian folk band.
