1. News on update of the Learning Circle

We have posted to you the Learning Circle update as of 8th   of November  2009. Thanks for IS6,IS9 for their answers and photos. Well Done.

Most of you have not responded to the questions from your partners. We are aware your students are busy researching on the questions. We hope you would guide them to provide answers that will relate the questions. In addition, we expect you to assist them to send the responses by this week. Remember we have this week to respond to the questions. We are all eager to read from you. So do not delay in sending your answers.

2. Agenda for the week (Responding to sponsored questions).

This week marks the last  week  of responding to sponsored questions. Your classes are now going to research and respond to the sponsored questions received from your Learning Circle partners. Remember your Learning Circle partners are expecting to find responses to their questions in the Wiki pages to enable them prepare their summaries on time.

To make the Learning Circle process interesting, it will be ideal to share responsibilities in your class.

Main recommendations for organizing research:

Research process include:

• Problem definition…the question

• A plan to answer or resolve the problem

• Use of objective data

• Collection of data

• Data recording

• Presentation

You can use different methods for your own research: searching information  in the Internet, questionnaire, interview, experiment, observation, etc.

Include photos, diagrams, video clips to illustrate your answers.

Click on Research and Answers and post your answer on the page of the specific question.

3 Contents of answers to sponsored questions

We would like to draw your attention once again to the fact that some of the answers being sent by some of you to sponsored questions are either short or unclear. We have sent personal mails to some you to rephrase your answers. We hope you will take it in good faith. We are appealing to teachers to assist students in performing this important exercise. We want the Learning Circle process contents to be clear and understanding to all. We hope we would all do our best to improve upon the quality.

We are also appealing to you to use your class codes and that of the Learning Circle partner’s question you are responding to.

4. Criteria for quality answers:

1.       Should be posted on time

2.       Clear definition without possible misinterpretation, taking into consideration cultural differences.

3.       The answer always starts with repeating the question.

4.       Answers should reflect that research has been done  and should consist of clear references, mention (re)sources used showing research has been done

5.       Minimum number of words should be for Communication Based  LC – 150 words in one answer.
