***********************************************************
Hello Learning Circle Participants,
We are now in the 9th week of the Learning Circle! Three weeks to end the Learning Circle process.
Now the News items for the week:
1. News on update of the Learning Circle
2. Agenda for the week.
3. Criteria for quality summary
4. LC Overview
1. News on update of the Learning Circle.
The update of the Learning Circles as of 22nd November 2009 has been sent to you. First of all I would like to thank those of you who posted summaries. Analyses show that 98% of the answers have been posted. We encourage those who have not post answers to the sponsored questions received should post them now! Remember your fellow partners are waiting for the answers to prepare their summaries. Without your answers, they can not post their summaries.
2. Agenda for the week.
As indicated earlier, this is the second week of preparation and posting of summarized answers! The answers received for your questions are now to be summarized. Go to the Summaries Page and post your Summary in the page with your school name.
3. Criteria for quality summary
1. Should be posted on time
2. Clear definition without possible misinterpretation, taking into consideration cultural differences.
3. Summary should not be Copy/Paste of answers from other groups. It should be summary of what you have learnt during the process. Summary should consist of following points:
- What did you think / knew before LC about the topic;
- What you wanted to learn about the topic;
- What have you learnt from your research and LC answers at the end.
Minimum number of words in summary should be for Communication Based LC – 300.
4. Photos should be added also.
Some hints on how to write the summary are:
1. Divide your class in groups.
2. Depending on the group, give each group all answers received from other learning partners.
3. Let the students read the answers carefully and put down their important or salient points.
4. Let each group present their important points.
5. Let the students identify the most appropriate write-ups.
6. Let the students write their final version
7. Teachers go through to ensure every thing is ok, in terms of grammar, punctuations and spellings
8. Post the summary to the Learning Circle.
4. LC Overview as at 15th of November 2009
