Page history last edited by Citaverde College 2E 14 years, 4 months ago

Dear Learning Circle friends,

We have compared our own country with other countries. We have seen many similarities but also many differences.

The music of other cultures was very different than the music of our country.

We have also seen differences in the food such as: In Hungary, they all have great breads, in South Africa they have very separate loaves Dombolo. In Morocco they have the sandwich you call pita bread in the Netherlands and we put spicy minced or sliced meat in it.

In the culture we have many differences but also very much seen and found as:

In Lebanon they have very special and pretty clothing. In Morocco they also have nice clothing and beautiful buildings of a kind of baths, this is very different than the stairways in the Netherlands. In Ukraine the most beautiful houses on the picture, you can see that the houses had a thatched roof. The dress looks very special from the a kind we wear, including jackets and they have colourful red boots.

If you look at the parties you see big differences between all countries. In Hungary, a sort of carnival celebrated. People then walk the streets with interesting suits and remarkable masks. In South Africa are also remarkable festivals including "Pinke Loeri Gay Mardi Gras Festival" and people wear interesting and colourful costumes and walk the streets.

In the music culture also we have found many fun things. In Lebanon they have a traditional music where musicians use traditional musical instruments, like a derbake. This is a small drum made of clay with goat skin on the top. And one mijwiz, this is a long bamboo flute.

After completion of the learning circle, we have learned many new things about the culture of the countries participating in the learning circle. Thanks for teaching us about your countries and cultures!

Best wishes to all of you,

Class 2E of the CITAVERDE college in the Netherlands.
